Annual Retreat
The Vineyard Guild 2008 Annual Retreat was held October 23-25
at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
The theme of this year's retreat was "Living and Leading with the Mind in the Heart"
and the keynote speaker was the Rev. Dr. Tilden Edwards.
Edwards is the founder and Senior Fellow of the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation. He was executive director of the Institute, now in Bethesda, MD, from its independent foundation in 1979 until 2000.
For next year's retreat, we are planning to have Dr. Bonnie Thurston as our keynote speaker.
Thurston was the William F. Orr Professor of New Testament at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. She is a Disciples of Christ minister and a founding member of the International Thomas Merton Society. Much of the year she lives a semi-eremitical life near Wheeling, West Virginia.
